How you can help the Templar community...

Many members ask how they can help the guild achieve its mission of providing a pleasurable Neverwinter gaming experience and help members in their game progression.

Help make the guild a fierce fighting machine...

Below are a few ways you can assist the guild.  Try to do just one thing everyday to advance the guild and help us make the Templars a fierce fighting machine and premiere Neverwinter guild.

1) Assist with Dragonflight and help yourself get some of the best gear in the game and also, help the guild and its Alliance counterparts in Stronghold development.

2) Assist with or conduct T3's or daily Stronghold Heroic Encounters.

3) Support Stronghold development with coffer donations.

4) Help other members do quests, dungeons or skirmishes when requested.

5) Install and use Teamspeak.  Encourage members to use this every effective and highly functional free voice chat.

6) Arrange a dungeon run -- spur of the moment or planned in advance.

7) Donate items to the guild bank for use by other members or as prizes in guild competitions.

8) Participate in and encourage participation in guild functions.

9) Work with John or Xerxes in recruiting new members.

10) Post tips, a guide or class build on the guild blog.

11) Educate yourself more about the game and your class by using the resources listed on the guild blog.

12) Help a member with their class build and proper gear.

13) Make suggestions and share ideas with the guild masters about how to advance the guild and make our gaming experience more enjoyable.

14) Create a fun guild activity to boost member morale and bind us together into a cohesive gaming community.

15) Join the crafting program and help provide end-game gear for members.

Have more ideas...

Share your thoughts about how guildies can help the guild with us on this blog.  We will be glad to hear from you.

All the best,
Xerxes

Templar Teamwork

Probably the most interesting aspect of the Templars, for whom our guilds are named, was teamwork. This is symbolized in the Templar's seal of two knights riding in the same saddle on one horse.  The knights always worked as a team and no brother was ever left behind:  two by two they went into battle.

Ghost Templars and Spirit Templars aspire to continue this tradition by developing a spirit of teamwork among its members.

We do this by aiding each other whenever possible: helping each other quest, level and dungeon delve; gearing up each other; and giving advice to each other on how to create an awesome build or play one's toons properly.  This is why guilds exist. This is what Templar community is all about.

We will need to work as a team to win the Stronghold Siege and slay the Stronghold Dragonflight Dragons.  Working as a team, we must learn to follow our leaders into battle and follow their directions. We've gotten good practice through running Stronghold heroic encounters.  We learn by working together in running dungeons and skirmishes.  We have to do so if we want to win our most difficult battles awaiting us in upcoming modules.

Let's work closely together as a team and continue the tradition of the Knights Templar, our exemplars in going into battle and besieging the enemy. Surely, we are on our way to Victory.

All the best,
Xerxes

Growing Pains

There is a tension within the Templar guilds that are to be expected for a new organization that is only five months old. We are having growing pains as we bounce between 2 sets of polar opposites: Casual/Raiding, and Benefits/Duties.

A few weeks ago, we had an experience that helped us define ourselves when Ghost Templars was asked to merge with a hardcore raiding guild. Our marshalls agreed that we are and will remain a casual guild as we do not want to place heavy burdens on our members. Hardcore guilds expect their members to daily deposit astral diamonds in the coffer, farm influence, and grind for surplus equipment and other items for stronghold development. Ghost Templars does not require members to do anything except abide by our simple regulations and participate in guild activities. This means our stronghold advancement will take longer, i.e., dragonflight gear and boons will not be quickly available. We have lost highly-geared level 70 members because of this: they want the best boons and gear in the game now, which we cannot provide in a casual guild like ours. We are willing to make this sacrifice to preserve our guild's casual way of being.

There is also the tension between benefits and duties. We cannot expect to have boons, special gear, etc., without concomitant duties; i.e., building up the stronghold to unlock special gear, boons and other benefits. Your Templar duties are expressed in the guidelines we have agreed to follow. In doing so, you gain access to all the benefits of our casual guild.

These tenions keep us on our toes and help us fulfill our mission of enabling our members to progress within the game and enjoy a fun gaming experience on Neverwinter.

All the best,
Xerxes
